Josiane Martinez

Founder & CEO

Josiane has more than 15 years of experience working in public policy, cross cultural communications, public affairs and public administration. Prior to founding Archipelago Strategies Group, she served as executive director of the Massachusetts Office for Refugees and Immigrants.

At ASG, she has led campaigns for diverse clients, including a record-setting Open Enrollment campaign for the Massachusetts Health Connector, a campaign to increase the number of quality schools in New England, and strategies to increase political access for minority organizations.

Josiane previously served in the Massachusetts State House as Governor Deval Patrick’s director of specialized media. She has also worked as a strategist for the successful campaigns of Boston Mayor Martin Walsh, and City Council President Michelle Wu.

A former reporter, Josiane has covered Latino communities for El Planeta, El Mundo, Siglo 21, Color Magazine and other outlets. She holds an MBA in Marketing from Simmons College and a BA in Public Communications and Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico.
